Abstract

Parental burnout is a psychological phenomenon experienced by parents as a result of chronic stress in managing parenting responsibilities. This article aims to explore the concept of parental burnout and its solutions through the lens of spirituality in the Qur'anic perspective, specifically as applied in the context of mentoring the Taman Melati Sawangan Depok community. The study employs a qualitative research method, incorporating literature review and case study approaches. Data were gathered through observations, interviews, and discussions with participants during parenting seminars. The findings reveal that parental burnout is triggered by multiple factors, including unrealistic societal expectations, limited support systems, and internal feelings of inadequacy. The Qur'an offers valuable guidance for addressing these challenges by emphasizing values such as patience (sabr), reliance on Allah (tawakkul), gratitude (shukr), and mutual support within the family and community. Participants in the mentoring program reported reduced stress levels and an increased sense of spiritual well-being after applying Qur'anic principles in their parenting practices. This article contributes to the discourse on integrating Islamic spirituality into psychological well-being and parenting, offering a practical framework for alleviating burnout among parents in Muslim communities. These findings underscore the importance of spiritual-based interventions as a complementary approach to addressing parental stress in contemporary settings.
